WARRANTY INFORMATION

Electrolux South Africa (Pty) Ltd., (‘Electrolux') warrants to the original purchaser (‘the Purchaser) that AEG appliances are free from defects in the material or workmanship under normal use and service subject to the following conditions (AEG appliances are covered by the Electrolux Warranty Conditions):

Product warranty is valid for domestic use only. Not for commercial or industrial use.

  1. Electrolux / AEG warrants the equipment against defective material or faulty manufacture, provided it is used for domestic purposes only, for a period of 36 (thirty six) months, from the date of purchase by the original retail purchaser. This warranty only applies to Electrolux and AEG large appliances.
  2. a) In the first 6 (six) months from date of purchase, for valid warranty claims, collection, return and installation of the appliance will be free of charge within South Africa if installed by an authorised Electrolux service age This does not include Gas units requiring COC certification.
    b) For the remainder of the warranty period where the repaired appliance is used or installed more than 50 kilometres from the nearest Electrolux service agent or elsewhere in South Africa, travel costs to the place of use or installation shall be for the account of the purchaser.
  3. The warranty is given on condition that only labour, parts and accessories supplied by authorised agents are at all times used in connection with the appliance, including the installation thereof, and that an authorised Electrolux service agent installs and/or services the appliance.
  4. Electrolux shall not be responsible for damage of any kind resulting from electricity fluctuations, faults in the building wiring, faulty installations, and improper use of controls or failure to use the appliance in accordance with the operating instructions and/or general misuse and/or abuse, or if not used for domestic purposes only, or for damage caused by a superior force (vis maiorJ. Any repair or tampering by an unauthorised person or attempt to repair or tamper with the equipment, or use of parts not supplied by authorised agents, or alterations or modification to the equipment, shall render the warranty null and void.
  5. After the first 6 (six) months from the date of purchase, this warranty does not apply to light bulbs, loose glass, glass oven doors and enamelled surfaces, filters and other parts subject to wear and tear or discolouring, as well as damage caused by abrasive and highly concentrated cleaners and/or cleaning materials or cleaners prohibited by the user manual.
  6. Electrolux shall not be responsible in terms of this warranty for the replacement or repair of any part of the equipment which may have been damaged in transit if delivery is undertaken by any party other than Electrolux or an authorised agent.
  7. All gas appliances are to be installed by a gas installer, registered with SAOCC GAS a COC certificate is to be received and required to book any warranty call. Electrical appliances are to be installed by a qualified electrician who is an authorised service agent or assisted by an authorised service agent from who proof of installation will be required.
  8. Repairs carried out under warranty have a guarantee period of 3 (three) months on the parts and labour supplied to repair the unit and does not extend the warranty nor does it start a new warranty. Parts removed during guarantee repairs become the property of Electrolux.
  9. After expiry of 6 (six) months from the date of purchase the warranty shall be available only to the original retail purchaser of Electrolux domestic appliances from an authorised Electrolux Dealer or Distributor and only where the appliance has been retained for use in the Republic of South Africa.
  10. Failure to produce documentary proof of the date of original acquisition by the original purchaser to Electrolux or an authorised service agent, will result in normal charges being levied for travel costs, the work carried out and the parts supplied, unless a production date can be proved to be within the 6 (six) months preceding the warranty claim.
  11. After 6 (six) months from the date of purchase of the appliance the liability of Electrolux under this warranty is limited to the replacement and/or repair of the defective parts within the warranty period and does not extend to the installation or removal of the appliance.
  12. Abuse of the appliance by the Purchaser will render this warranty invalid. Improper use of the appliance and failure to use the appliance or maintain the appliance in accordance with the relevant instructions will be considered as abuse. This includes infestations of any insect or animal.

ADDITIONAL WARRANTY INFORMATION

  1. Any AEG domestic appliance used in a commercial capacity will not be covered by the warranty.
  2. The Purchaser shall refer the appliance for repair to Electrolux/AEG in Benoni (see contact details below). On referral for repair in accordance with the warranty as aforesaid Electrolux shall, at its opinion, of satisfied that the conditions herein set out have been complied with, replace or repair the appliance without cost to the Purchaser.
  3. The Purchaser shall use only genuine AEG accessories.
  4. This warranty does not apply to light bulbs, external electrical connections, flex wiring and all other items where the length of life depends upon the use and care given.
  5. This warranty shall only apply to appliances in and retained for use in South Africa, Namibia, Lesotho, Botswana, and Swaziland.
  6. The serial plate shall not be removed from the appliance. Removal will Void Warranty.
  7. Electrolux undertakes that all goods supplied by it shall conform to the specifications of the same except insofar as these are necessarily modified by AEG from time to time. Electrolux does not warrant or give any representation of any nature in respect of any appliances supplied by it or the materials from which those appliances were made, or the workmanship in the making of those appliances or the fitness of those appliances for any particular purpose whether to not that purpose is known to Electrolux.
  8. Electrolux shall not be responsible for any loss or damage of any nature whatsoever whether direct or indirect, consequential or otherwise, sustained as a result of any appliance being defective or not conforming to the description thereof, or as a result of improper use of the appliance (which, without limiting the generality thereof, shall include the use of incorrect voltage or faults in the house wiring, improper use of the controls and failure to use the appliances in accordance with the operating instructions), or as a result of any other cause whatsoever.
  9. Abuse of the appliance by the Purchaser will render this warranty invalid. Improper use of the appliance and failure to use the appliance or maintain the appliance in accordance with the relevant instructions will be considered as abuse. This includes infestations of any insect or animal.
  10. The Purchaser shall, when referring the appliance for warranty repair as aforesaid, produce the purchase invoice or hire documentation together with the warranty. To Electrolux directly for warranty & out of warranty units.
  11. Electrolux shall be entitled to charge the Purchaser for services rendered outside the warranty period, or for any quotations given when no fault is found, for any replacement’s parts supplied and which are not covered by warranty.
  12. The above conditions constitute separate and devisable resolutive conditions and failure of the Purchaser to observe each or any of the said conditions will render the warranty of no force and effect.
  13. No understandings or representations, which are not in writing and accepted by Electrolux or specified in writing, are binding on it.

A service call must be logged on any fault you find on your unit.

  • Proof of purchase
  • Photo of unit serial plate
  • Fault on unit
  • Full address and Contact information
  • Additional contact person
